Mombie Madness

Some days I do feel subhuman, nonhuman..especially after a limited sleep. Birthdays are probably the classic in our home. You have to gear up and prepare yourself for sleep deprivation. Its like training for a marathon! You're well aware months in advance that you have to make a cake the night before, deal with an excited child who wont sleep because they want the morning to come quicker.....Ummm have they not realised it takes even longer?!
I'm sure in some countries sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture. Well I'm calling "Dibs" on my children! These little masterminds regularly find ways to decrease my sleep, whether its jumping into my bed for snuggles in the wee hours of the morning, yelling because they heard a few scary bumps in the night (normally the cat) or playing so hard they become over tired and hit their second wind and I'm up for hours.
Rebecca Astill stated, "insufficient sleep affects cognitive performance and aggravates behavioral problems!"

Well the next time I throw a tantrum, become overemotional, accident prone or have difficulties concentrating - I'm blaming my children!!! After all I maybe a supermum but into the early hours of the morning - I'm just a MOMBIE!!!
